OWNERS SAM GREENWOOD AND DEREK PENNER
We are Sam and Derek, owners of S & D Tile. We have spent the last two decades in the tile field. We’ve worked closely together for most of that time, on jobs together and then starting our own business in 2009. We have the technical skills and know-how to get even the most challenging jobs done. But running a successful business requires more than the technical aspects. Sam’s knowledge and experience led him to teach as a tile instructor, where he honed his communication and leadership skills. We also both received leadership training and developed excellent project management skills to make sure the job gets done correctly, on time and within budget.
Our interest in owning our own business began because we felt that as business owners, we could treat our own employees more fairly that we ourselves had been treated. Paying our employees a fair wage based on performance, talent and loyalty, rather than simply based on number of years in the field is important to us. We know how we want to treat our own employees, and rewarding our employees for a job well done is an important part of our company culture.
